Isaac FARMER and Nancy EARLY were married in Grayson Co VA on the 8th of March, 1832.  They are my ggg-grandparents.  Much of what I've learned about Isaac and Nancy's ancestry, came from the book,  "The EARLYS of Southwest Virginia" by Katherine Kent Early Holden, published 1981.

Isaac was a Civil War veteran.
Will of Isaac Farmer, written 22 May, 1890; proved 24 Nov 1890 ( Carroll Co W.B. 4, p 121). This will names Lavina ( Louvinia) Farmer, wife of John E Farmer, son Peter S. Farmer,daughter Rhoda Haskell, Joanna Tipton;  children of Virginia E. Hurst ( children not named);  Lavina's two sons- Albert and Harbert and daughters-Nora and Florence.  Surety: James N Early ; executor Walter S. Tipton.

Nancy Early's parents were John Early and Rhoda Stephens. Nancy was born March, 17, 1815  and died November 17 1882.  Her burial place is North End Cemetery, Carroll County, Virginia.  Nancy's siblings were Joannah Early, James Early, Peter Early, and John Early.

Isaac Farmer's parents were James and Susannah Farmer.  Isaac was born abt 1808 in Grayson County, Virginia and died in 1890 and is also buried at North End Cemetery in Carroll County, Virginia.  Isaac's siblings were Michael Farmer, Barnett Farmer, Rebecca Farmer, James Farmer, Elizabeth Farmer and William Farmer.

FARMER, James. Will proved August 1838. Names wife, Susannah and children, Elizabeth, James, Isaac, Michael ("in the west") and Rebeccy Newman. Grayson Co VA.  Veteran of the American Revolution DAR, Dorothea Henry Chapter.

 

James Farmer's father was Michael Farmer born about 1750 ; died about 1825 in Grayson County, Virginia.

 Michael Farmer, Sr. born circa 1750 , died 1824/27 in Grayson County, Virginia, was a pioneer settler of Grayson County.  His lands lay in that sections of Montgomery Co which became Wythe Co in 1789 and Grayson in 1793.
Named in the Personal Property list of Montgomery in 1789, Wythe in 1793 and thereafter in Grayson.

Michael Farmer served in the Virginia Militia and the War of 1812.

My direct line from Isaac FARMER and Nancy EARLY is via their daughter, Virginia E. FARMER, known as Jennie; born abt. 1847 who married Rufus F. HURST, a Civil War veteran.  Their daughter, Alice who was  born about 1866( per census records) is my greatgrandmother.
